Is it free to post a funeral notice?
Yes. Posting a funeral notice on FuneralFinder is free, and we don’t sell advertising around notices.
How long does it take for a notice to appear?
We check every notice by hand before it’s published, to keep the page safe and respectful. This can take a little time, so if the funeral is very soon, share the details directly with family and friends as well.
What should I include?
The person’s full name, the town they lived in, the date they died and the funeral details: date, time and venue. You can add a short tribute, and whether the family would like flowers or donations. See our guide on how to write an obituary or death notice.
What should I leave out?
Don’t include the home address, full date of birth or anything that could help a burglar or a fraudster: empty homes during funerals are sometimes targeted. Don’t include details about other people without their agreement.
Can a notice be changed or removed?
Yes. Use the link on the notice to ask us to correct or remove it. We’ll check the request comes from the family before making changes.
